How should I dress?

Whatever makes you comfortable! Most folks go for a business casual look, and many come in uniform if applicable. Many dress up just a little for the Opening Ceremony, the awards reception, and the banquet. However, we invite you to be comfortable; there will be plenty of sitting and mingling.

How will we get to the off-site visit?

This year, we will be visiting the Marine Museum and taking a tour of the SS Keewatin. It is about a 1km walk along Kingston’s Waterfront. The tour itself will last approximately an hour, so please be prepared for walking and standing (be mindful of your footwear!).

What is the best way to travel to Kingston?

Kingston is a few hours away from three major airports: Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa. All three will have car rental options. Don’t want a car? (Kingston is a beautiful pedestrian city!) Take the train from the airport!

From Toronto airport:

  • Take the UP train from the airport to Union Station ($12)
  • Take the 2.5-hour VIA train to Kingston (approximately $50 one way in economy). Trains run daily from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm
  • Call a taxi or UBER right to the hotel (under $20)

From Montreal airport

  • Take the free shuttle to the Dorval rain station, which runs every 45-60 minutes
  • Take 2 2-hour VIA train to Kingston (approximately $50 one way in economy). Trains run daily from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm
  • Call a taxi or UBER right to the hotel (under $20)

From Ottawa airport

  • Take the O-train (requires a transfer) to get to the downtown VIA Train Station
  • Take 2 2-hour VIA train to Kingston (approximately $50 one way in economy). Trains run daily from about 4:00 am to 6:30 pm
  • Call a taxi or UBER right to the hotel (under $20)
