The Canadian Safe Boating Awards
The Canadian Safe Boating Council is in the business of promoting safe and responsible boating throughout Canada. As an alliance of members committed to preventing boating injuries and drowning, the Canadian Safe Boating Council works to achieve its mission through a few major events.
Each January, stakeholders in recreational boating safety assemble to honour the people, programs, organizations and marinas that help to make boating in Canada safer and better for all of us, and to keep the environment clean.
Those new to this gala event call them the Canadian Safe Boating Awards. But the many that each year make this evening an essential outing on their post-Christmas calendars, simply refer to them as the CASBAS.
Of special significance to award recipients is that, with the exception of the Canadian Safe Boating Council’s Special Recognition Award, their nomination came from people like you; those in the industry, boating safety organizations and the general public.
The 2025 CASBA Awards will be held on January 18, 2026.

What are the CASBAs?
Canada with its abundance of lakes and rivers has an extremely rich recreational boating heritage. That this activity is enjoyed safely by millions of Canadians and visitors each year is due in great part to the efforts of boating enthusiasts and experts alike. The CASBA celebration and dinner is hosted in January and recognizes the efforts of the public, volunteers, professionals, agencies and organizations who have distinguished themselves in the fields of boating safety and environmental stewardship. Winners are selected in a number of categories. What makes the CASBAs so very special is that the winners are chosen based on nominations provided by boating enthusiasts… just like you.

The CASBA celebration is a special evening. Spend an evening with colleagues and friends as we recognize those whose have risen to the challenge of making boating a better experience for all. Each CASBA event has shared amazing stories of bravery, innovation, passion and dedication. It is an honour for the Council to be hosting the celebration… we hope to see you there!
